In one of my previous answers where i saw every one said "well i guess you're getting more muscle...muscle weighs more than fat" and then i think i replied with "yeah my 1lb of lead is like totally, dude like seriously omggg like sooo much heavier than 1lb of feathers"
even that didn't do anything for those retards...
I sincerely believe myths come up because people always think that they know everrrrything about diet&fitness because they walked into a gym for 1yr and saw some improvements. The media also easily has it's hand in this. Example "Vitamin Water" some bottles have 40g's of sugar...almost none from fruit/vege's - that thing does more damage than it does good. Really want anti-oxidants? then eat fruits/vegetables.
Then we go to the infomercials "lose 1012392131 inches in 2 days with acai berry, perfect pullup" (sureeeee you'll get huge quads doing pullups) it's amazing, people believe only what they WANT to hear, not what's the Truth and yeah, women and "but i don't wanna be like a man" well sweethearts you're not going to, you're Not a man and you do not have the testosterone levels to look like us.
and no you CANNOT burn fat and make it muscle...that just doesn't happen, you can do both at the same time as in "burn fat + gain muscle at the same time" or you can "burn fat + lose muscle" or "gain fat and muscle" but fat doesn't transform into muscle it's like trying to turn a ton of bricks into a ton of water.....it's not going to happen.
another one is "omg do crunches and you'll get cute and sparkly shredded abs" yeah...sorry to make you teen boys and girls sad..but abs are purely based on body fat %, don't believe me? then have it your way...do your crunches/side bends, situps all day for 2 months, and get back to me on how cool your "Abs" look..
People will believe anything that sounds convincing and seems to be coming from a qualified source. Unfortunately, mostly everyone gets their info from unreliable sources such as wikipedia. I also think people don't want to lift because it's too much effort, not because of the possibility of getting "mega huge." You won't get mega huge unless that is your goal and you actually take the steps towards getting to that point. As for your last point, it shows that people don't know the difference between mass and density.
